Where possibility becomes tangible.
Restoring creative dignity in the township so children can dream young.
Born in the township. Built for the township.
“I’m a young creative from the township, where talent is everywhere but opportunity is not. So I decided to be the room.”
The Nontokozo Mkhize Foundation exists to open doors that have stayed closed for too long. We believe every child deserves the space to imagine, and every elder deserves to be cared for with dignity.
Six ways we show up for our community
Creative workshops
We bring the industry to the township, from filmmakers to musicians and writers, so children see what’s possible and leave with work they made.
Creative education
Teaching creative skills from a young age, so dreaming big becomes a habit and not a luxury.
Food & care drives
Meals, groceries and essentials for children and elders who need a helping hand.
Safe spaces to create
Welcoming places where young people can create freely, feel seen and be themselves.
Gender equality
Creative spaces where girls and boys are equally seen, heard and valued.
Good health & wellbeing
Healing through creativity, dignity and care, offering ways to express, heal and hope.
Children
Giving young people the tools, mentors and space to dream creatively, and the belief that their ideas matter.
Elders
Honouring the people who raised our communities with food, care and companionship when they need it most.
Your dreams are still valid. And we’re here to help where we can.
Be part of the room
Every contribution, big or small, helps a child create and an elder feel cared for.
Let’s dream together.
